Mr. David S. Shepherd is a Social Studies Teacher here at Wendell High School. He is currently in his eleventh year of service at WSD # 232. He has taught everything within the realm of Social Sciences from Civics and Government to Sociology, U.S. History, World History as well as Speech Forensics. Mr. Shepherd attended Boise State University for two years before transferring to the University of Idaho where he finished his education in history and education endorsement in Social Studies. Since then he has continued his education earning college credits from just about every higher education institution within the state of Idaho. In 2008 he picked up an additional educational endorsement to teach Secondary Language Arts. Mr. Shepherd has taught in alternative school settings in Boise, as well as in the juvenile detention facilities in both Boise and Twin Falls. He currently works part time through the College of Southern Idaho as the G.E.D. Coordinator at the Twin Falls County Jail implementing the Adult Basic Education Program there. Mr. Shepherd is a prolific writer that is currently finishing his first big writing project and preparing it for future publication. The focus of that work is on Teacher training, Social Studies and English Courses, as well as Ethics and the sport of distance running, among other things. David is married to Amy Shepherd who is currently a stay at home mother but who is also an educator by profession. David and Amy have (3) beautiful little boys who are the apple of their eyes. Mr. Shepherd's hobbies include but aren't limited to the following: hunting, fishing, backpacking, raising beef, reading, writing, staying informed of current events, distance running (sponsored by Idaho Beef Council), home improvement, and entrepreneurship, just to mention a few. Mr. Shepherd enjoys traveling, and has spent time abroad in places such as Mexico, Eastern Europe, and Nepal.
