Phil Wert is in his fifteenth-year teaching at Wendell. This is his eighth year teaching Social Studies at the high school. He teaches both US History and US Government. Along with teaching Mr. Wert's responsibilities include being the head coach of both softball and volleyball. Some of his coaching accomplishments have included multiple state tournament qualifications, a state runner up finish and an academic state championship. Mr. Wert is a proud graduate of Wendell High School, the class of 1995. He married the love of his life Brandy and has three kids. His daughters are both teachers at Wendell, and his son is an electrician. He graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor's in elementary Education. He followed that up with receiving his Master's in Educational Leadership from Capella University. In his free time, he likes to read, watch movies and coach. Mr. Wert can often be found sitting around a campfire, playing outdoor games, or cooking. He really enjoys doing all three at the same time, while spending time with his wife and kids.
