Bio


Justin Alsterlund has been the Principal at Wendell high school since 2017. Mr. Alsterlund completed his Professional Preparation Programs for Principal and Superintendent certification through Lamar University. He holds a master’s degree in Secondary Teacher Education with an emphasis in curriculum and school management from the University of Phoenix. His B.S. degree is in Physical Education and Health from Eastern Oregon University where he also played collegiate basketball and football. Mr. Alsterlund was a 2 time All-American football player at EOU. Currently, he’s in his 13th year of education. His professional experiences include being a paraprofessional, classroom teacher, and numerous head coaching positions. He also teaches online classes for the Idaho Digital Learning Alliance and has served on numerous COGNIA accreditation teams.

Mr. Alsterlund married the love of his life Merilee Caldwell in 2015. They have two black labs named Blitz and Ice-man. They have 2 children named Maverick and Georgia Joyce whom definitely keep them on their toes at all times. He enjoys the outdoors, sporting events, all genres of music, and has an extreme addiction for waterfowl hunting. Mr. Alsterlund has P.R.I.D.E that runs deep for education and all its stakeholders.

Our main commitment is to create a positive and successful learning environment for the community of Wendell and surrounding areas. Our dedicated and experienced staff is focused on helping every student find his or her own path to success.
